A connected health journey
The questions we have about our health and wellbeing can rarely be answered by a single examination or consultation. Physical condition, movement, lifestyle, recovery and mental wellbeing are often interconnected. At Fürdőházak, we would like to see these areas as parts of one shared health journey.
Health assessments and medical consultations may be complemented by rehabilitation, exercise, nutritional support, recovery, and sleep and stress management, always tailored to individual circumstances and goals. The future centre will include a medical consulting room, spaces for rehabilitation and movement, and wellness and recovery facilities.
The starting point is always the person: their history, current health, symptoms, lifestyle and what they hope to achieve. Together, these can shape a personal health journey in which each examination, treatment and lifestyle change has a clear purpose.
From assessment to a personal plan
Modern healthcare and the world of longevity give us access to an increasing amount of data. Laboratory results, body composition, cardiovascular indicators, physical performance, movement function and recovery data can all contribute to understanding a person’s current condition.
The real value of measurement, however, lies in interpretation: identifying the important connections within this information and linking them to clear next steps.
At Fürdőházak, an assessment may therefore be followed by a discussion with professionals to help establish priorities. In some circumstances, medical care or further examinations may take precedence; in others, rehabilitation, movement, nutrition, sleep or recovery may play a greater role.
For us, a personalised approach means that the programme adapts to the person, rather than the other way round.
Change happens in everyday life
A health programme becomes truly valuable when the knowledge gained and the direction agreed together can be put into practice in daily life.
A personal plan therefore needs clear, achievable priorities: what is worth changing first, what support might help, and when to review the results.
Follow-up is part of the planned health journey from the outset. A review provides an opportunity to evaluate results and experiences together and, where needed, refine the plan for the next stage.
Assessment, the personal programme and follow-up thus become different stages of the same process.
For local residents and guests staying for several days
Fürdőházak is being developed both for people living in Szarvas and the surrounding area, and for guests visiting for a health programme lasting several days.
Local residents will be able to use medical, preventive, rehabilitation and health promotion services without booking accommodation, and return regularly for reviews, exercise programmes or other relevant services. Serving local residents and health tourism guests alongside one another has been part of the development concept from the beginning.
For guests staying several days, apartment accommodation will allow the professional programme, movement, rehabilitation, recovery and rest to fit together at a calmer pace.
Time spent here can thus provide the setting for a carefully considered health programme, with room for both professional input and recovery.
Connected to local healthcare
We envisage Fürdőházak operating within a collaborative professional network, in which the examinations, treatments and programmes available on site connect naturally with local and regional healthcare providers.
The development concept deliberately builds on local professionals, healthcare and rehabilitation partnerships, and Szarvas’s tradition of spa medicine. Fürdőházak aims to complement the existing healthcare and tourism offer, drawing on local knowledge and professional resources.
Within such a system, individual points of care can become parts of a clear process for the patient: it becomes easier to understand where they are, what comes next and when to reassess the results.
Continuing a life’s work
Dr Katalin Palov worked in Szarvas for many years as a consultant in internal medicine and rheumatology. Her professional career was closely connected with local patient care and spa medicine. She also played an important role in the studies that underpinned the recognition of Szarvas’s thermal water as medicinal water.
When we first imagined Fürdőházak, our aim was not to rethink a specific model of specialist care, but to carry forward the ethos that Dr Katalin Palov represented. Decades ago, that ethos already included a vision of a clinic that sees the whole person.
Today, this legacy is joined by new perspectives and tools: thinking in terms of systems, using data thoughtfully, technology, and the ambition to connect healthcare, rehabilitation and lifestyle support in a system that works in practice and remains sustainable over time.
Fürdőházak is therefore a contemporary continuation of an earlier vision: a place where medicine, rehabilitation, prevention, longevity and technology are all part of the same 360-degree approach.
This is what makes everything about Fürdőházak 360 degrees: we want to see the whole person and support their health over the long term accordingly.
